is a musical force—Juilliard-trained, Harlem-born, and Atlanta-based—fusing Jazz, Hip-Hop, Afrobeat, Gospel, Funk, and R&B into an electrifying sound all his own. A bold composer, dynamic trumpeter, and founder of the IAMKHEMESTRY JAZZ ORCHESTRA, his work channels the spirit of Basquiat and the Harlem Renaissance while lighting up stages with raw emotion and unmatched artistry. From iconic collaborations to community-driven music education, IAMKHEMESTRY is redefining what it means to be an artist of purpose, power, and legacy.

KARLA HARRIS

is a powerhouse jazz vocalist known for her rich voice, fearless phrasing, and magnetic stage presence. With performances from the Kennedy Center to top jazz festivals, she brings classic and contemporary jazz to life with soul and style. Based in Atlanta, Karla is also a passionate educator and mentor, inspiring the next generation through performance and community. Whether she's swinging a standard or debuting original work, Karla delivers jazz that moves and mesmerizes. Her music is a celebration of storytelling, groove, and the timeless power of jazz to connect hearts and cultures.

MABU'S ARK BAND

is a vibrant talented ensemble led by the dynamic Brad “Mabu” Young, blending jazz, soul, reggae, R&B, and Afro-Caribbean rhythms into an unforgettable musical experience. With performances at iconic venues like The Apollo and Sweetwater’s, as well as international stages in Jamaica and Africa, the band has built a reputation for their energetic shows and commitment to community. Their music not only entertains but also supports cultural initiatives, with proceeds from events aiding children and underserved communities in the West Indies. Rooted in the Wolof language, “Mabu” means “strength,” a fitting tribute to the band's powerful sound and mission.

JESSY DIAZ

is a powerhouse Cuban-born singer, percussionist, and educator bringing the fiery spirit of Afro-Cuban music to stages worldwide. Trained in Havana’s top symphonic orchestras, Jessy’s dynamic performances have thrilled audiences from Cuba to the U.S., including a memorable show for President Obama during a historic Cuban State Dinner in 2016. Since making the U.S. her home in 2017, she’s been igniting hearts with irresistible rhythms—from mambo and cha-cha-cha to son and bolero—while passionately mentoring the next generation of artists. Jessy’s music isn’t just heard; it’s felt, celebrated, and lived, making every performance a vibrant celebration of culture, community, and soul.

Join us for free salsa lessons with the talented dance instructor Mario Diaz on Saturday, September 13th, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM - right before Jessy Diaz’s performance. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to sharpen your moves, these lessons are open to everyone with no partner or experience needed. Learn the steps, have fun, and get ready to show off your new salsa moves during the show!
